Providence Blog: 27 October – 5 November 2019

Welcome to the opening week of our Providence 2019-2020 season, a trip where we welcomed a couple of familiar faces who were joining us for the second time on the atoll with us.

IMG_0362The first day dawned with excitement and a slight south easterly breeze. With an early morning low tide the boats were straight onto the flats and with that the GTs came. Chris, Christiaan, Tom, Shiloh, Nic, Jordan and Jeorg managed to open their GT accounts, with Tom landing a great fish of 96cm and Chris landing a fish of an even 90cm. The Bumpies were up on the flats and Nic, John, Ron and Joerg manged to each land a fish. A special mention goes to Joerg, who, after landing a GT and Bumpy, managed to land an impressive 141cm Barracuda on the flat. With the water high on the flats later in the day we enjoyed a Sailfish session, with Tom and Joerg both landing a fish each before the day came to a close.

DSC01923The second morning saw another enthusiastic start and the rewards were reaped as Tom, Chris, Shiloh, Jordan and Christiaan all landed GTs. A special mention goes to Christiaan and Jordan who managed to land twin GTs of 118cm each; Christiaan spotting his fish late on into the pushing tide crossing a turtle grass apex, he managed to present the fly in the perfect place and the big fish engulfed the fly on a second attempt. Jordan’s fish was an exceptional tale of the magic of Providence. After teasing up a sailfish offshore he presented his fly to the fish, it was engulfed as it landed but instead of the customary Sailfish jumps, the fish sounded and after a tug of war was brought up to the side of the boat. He rounded off his remarkable day by managing to pick a Moustache Triggerfish out of a school of tailing Bumpies.IMG_2845

The third day brought a change of scenery as the boat was moved to the midpoint of the atoll and with a spring low tide at midday the boats managed to access the eastern side of the atoll. A great day was had as a total of 16 GTs were landed. Christiaan had a cracking day landing 7 by himself. A special shout goes out to Joe and Mike, landing 3 GTs and 2 GTs respectfully. Jordan managed to continue ticking fish off his list, this time landing a Bumpy in record time.
DSC02587The fourth day dawned clear and breezy. With some higher water on the flats in the morning, the boats had access into the unique inner lagoon systems of Providence. It proved to be fruitful as Joerg, Giles, Shiloh, Jordan, Nic, Tom and Joe managed to all land GTs. Tom finally being able to break the one-meter mark with a beautiful fish who was bow waking in super skinny water. Joerg managed to continue his stellar week landing 4 GTs before lunchtime. With access to the lagoons there is the potential for amazing Triggerfish fishing, and this was the case as Christiaan managed to land 3 Yellow Margin Triggers and Mike managing to get his first Moustache Triggerfish as well.

DSC02197With the tides starting to move towards the neaps, the fifth day brought some more lagoon fishing. A total of 8 GTs came to hand with congratulations going out to Mike, Joe, Christiaan, Jordan and Ron. Christiaan managed to land another Yellow Margin Triggerfish and Shiloh managed his first Triggerfish. This was welcomed with great excitement after many previous disappointments. Joerg tamed another Sailfish in the morning to add to his incredible week.

The morning of Day 6 brought in some heavy winds and the looming cloud cover forcing a move back to the relatively sheltered north western section of the atoll. After a slightly later than usual start the flats were hit. A tough day only saw 3 GTs coming to hand, although Joe managed to catch his first Moustache Triggerfish which was awesome!

DSC01821Day 7 dawned breezy again but with the mothership moored close to the flats the boats spread out for another day of fishing. A total of 8 GTs were landed, a special mention going again to Jeorg who managed a beautiful fish of 106cm. He wasn’t done there though and managed to land his first Yellow Margin Triggerfish, almost completing his list of targeted species. It was a day for the tailing species and after landing two GTs Chris managed to land 2 Bumpies as well, finally catching a Bonefish to round off the slam. Christiaan also managed a slam, landing a GT, a Bonefish and 2 Triggers. John ticked the Yellow Margin Triggerfish off of his list to round off another stellar day out on the atoll.

IMG_2882Dark skies and gloomy weather greeted us on the last morning of the trip. After launching off the mothership a large school of Milkfish were found feeding for the first time this week. The boats quickly got into position and it wasn’t long before Giles managed to hook and quickly land his first Milkfish. After a few near misses, Tom and Christiaan managed to land their first Milks as well. A few pods of GTs were found in the eastern coral gardens and Joe, John and Mike managed to land 4 fish. A special mention goes to Mike whose fish came in at 102cm. With the high cloud cover the water on the flats cooled off and brought with it some epic Bonefishing. A great session was had on the falling afternoon tide. With the fish tailing hard, Shiloh, Nic, Christiaan, Joe, John and Mike capitalized, landing many fish. Christiaan and Shiloh managed to land two great fish both going 10 pounds, a great way to round off the first week of the season.

The numbers stacked up as follows:

  • GTs – 69
  • Bonefish – 41
  • Bumpies – 10
  • Triggerfish – 13
  • Sailfish – 5
  • Milkfish – 3

Until next week

Farquhar Blog: 9-16 Oct 2019

Somewhat tricky conditions dominated most of the week, with a strong southeasterly wind and predominantly cloudy skies with light to strong showers passing through regularly. With the full moon it was a week of full spring tides with large water fluctuations.

FARQ - Hilton Peterson - -Week_2 - 09 - 16 October 2019 - 100Despite the weather it was a week of big fish. A Seychelles regular, Joern kicked things off with an absolutely massive GT of 134cm, the largest of the season so far! In addition to that giant Joern landed another 3 more GTs. Andrew captured 2 GTs while James managed his 1st GT along with Tim, Murray-John, Andrew and Hilton all landed a GT each.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn amazing Permit was caught this week by Andrew. Measuring 84cm it is the largest caught on Farquhar to date, and a truly special fish. Our group managed 29 bonefish this week with most anglers landing large fish. Alan caught his first bonefish, which was also his first fish on a fly. He went on to catch a bonefish of 66cm.

FARQ - Matthieu Cosson - -Week_2 - 09 - 16 October 2019 - 40

Our first Bumpheaded Parrotfish of the season came from Joern on the last day of the trip. The fish measured 84cm.

Congrats to everyone for landing special fish this week. We’re looking forward to what the atoll has in store for us in the coming weeks.

Till next time,

Providence Blog: 23 – 30 April 2019

The harsh weather we experienced last week unfortunately resulted in us losing a day’s fishing of our final week of the season, an unfortunate and exceptionally rare occurrence. With 5 days of the season remaining we were determined to make the most of the time we had left on the atoll.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Day 1 – We began the week coming off the spring tides and moving toward the neaps, which provided suitable conditions for the tailing fish species. The Triggerfishing was great with Stephane landing 3 Yellow Margin Triggerfish and Bertrand managing to land 2. Jack also got stuck into the Triggers and managed to get an awesome Yellow Margin Triggerfish, while George managed to get his first Moustache Triggerfish on fly; impressive fishing guys, well done! The GTs provided our guests with multiple shots of which we managed to convert with Marko, Stephane, Bertrand and Tim all opening their GT account on Day 1.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Day 2 – The GT and Triggerfishing continued to impress with Jack, Dominic, Malik and Harold all landing 1 each. Tim enjoyed a great day on the eastern side of the atoll and ended his day with 5 GTs in total. The species fishing was incredible with loads of Snappers, Emperors and Grouper caught for the day. All in all, it was a great second day out on the flats.

IMG_9179Day 3 – We encountered good numbers of GTs patrolling the flats, these fish were found to be following sharks or on the back of stingrays. Dominic enjoyed good fishing and managed to land 2 while George also managed to get a GT to hand. Dominic then chipped in with a strong Yellow Margin Triggerfish to add to his day’s exploits. Tim, after travelling to the Seychelles previously and not having the best of luck with the Bumphead Parrotfish, managed to get one to the net, well done a beautiful fish Tim! The highlight of the day however was the amazing Bonefishing our guests were lucky enough to experience. Both Stephane and Bertrand were able to land fish over the 10lb mark, well done guys!

dav_soft

Day 4 – The GT fishing was incredible today with Bertrand tailing 5 GTs with his biggest measuring an impressive 105cm! Malik followed suit and landed a super strong fish that stretched the measuring tape to 104cm. Stephane managed to land 2 GTs and later added yet another great Yellow Margin Triggerfish to his already long list of catches for the week.

IMG_9087

Day 5 – The fantastic GT fishing continued on the final day of the fishing week with Matthew landing 3 GTs. He then went on to complete a flats slam by landing a Yellow Margin Triggerfish and a Bonefish, well done sir! Dominic and Tim both managed land a good GT each while Stephane added another Yellow Margin Triggerfish to his name. Our guests were treated to some insane skinny water, tailing bonefishing which is a real treat to experience anywhere in the world.

All in all, another great week enjoyed by our guests and guides with some spectacular fish caught. This atoll is full of surprises and can produce a fish of a lifetime at any minute; as our guests realized during this week.

Our catch tally for the week was as follows:

  • GTs – 57
  • Bumpies – 1
  • Triggers – 21
  • Species – 283

With that we conclude another season on Providence Atoll, we look forward to the coming October – December 2019 season, till then, tight lines.

Farquhar Blog: 19 – 26 April 2019

Our last week of the Farquhar Atoll March – April 2019 season proved to be a tough one from a weather perspective with heavy rain and strong winds. We experienced big spring tides to start with that progressed to neaps towards the end of the fishing week.

2G1A0305Due to the strong winds we couldn’t use our boats for 3 of 6 fishing days this week. Although this was certainly a difficult situation for us as well as our guests, we still managed to make the most of the situation by fishing around the north island of the atoll on foot. In total we managed to land 12 of the 19 GTs hooked this week with 2 of these fish measuring a 100cm plus! The largest was landed by angler Derrick, a monster fish that stretched the measuring tape to 107cm.  It should be mentioned that 6 of our guests managed to land their first ever GTs on fly which is impressive considering the less than ideal conditions we were dealt with.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Despite the tough weather conditions the Triggerfish were still seen on several occasions this week with our guests managing to hook 10 and land 5 in total. On the Bumphead Parrotfish front we were treated to numerous shots at these large tailing fish, however of the 15 hooked we were only able to land 1, the only successful angler being Richard.

IMG_7265

The species fishing was as good as ever on Farquhar with several large Grouper landed. Mike managed to land two special fish, a Bohar Snapper of 80cm and a large Napoleon Wrasse. Angler Giles managed to hook and land a beautiful Island Trevally while the rest of the group enjoyed good catches of Bluefin Trevally.

With that we concluded another week and season on the pristine flats of Farquhar Atoll. We look forward to the September – December 2019 season, till then, tight lines.

DSC_1069Day 1 – We started our week heading towards full moon spring tides, with clear skies and little wind. The GTs were around in decent numbers today and our guests managed to get some great fish to hand with Terry and Brian opening the week with solid GTs measuring 97cm each. Alejandro enjoyed a cracking opening day and landed 3 GTs, a Yellow Margin Triggerfish and a Bonefish; completing a flats Slam! David added to the GT tally by landing 2 decent GTs. The Triggers were seen tailing away on the shallow flats of the atoll. Patrick and Rob both managed to take full advantage of the favorable conditions and landed a Moustache Triggerfish each while Chris also tailed an awesome Yellow Margin Triggerfish.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Day 2 – After the opening days action our guests were super keen to get out onto the flats. Considering that the weather was fairly challenging today our group still managed to land some impressive fish. Rob opened his GT account while Andre made the most of his opportunities and landed 3 GTs; the biggest measuring 102cm! He continued his good form by hooking and landing 2 Yellow Margin Triggerfish, great stuff! Warwick, who had been eagar to land a Triggerfish on fly did just that and got a beautiful Yellow Margin Triggerfish to hand, well done! Not to be outdone Jarod also broke the metre mark today with a super strong GT of 101cm and then added a Yellow Margin Triggerfish to his tally.

IMG_8923Day 3 – The challenging weather conditions continued with dark skies, rain and strong winds. Despite this, we were all still excited to get onto the water and see what the atoll had in store for us. The fish were around in good numbers with Pete getting a solid GT, hitting the mark at 96cm, it had been holding in a big lagoon drainage, when the fish saw the fly it did not hesitate to eat his baitfish pattern. Warwick also landed a great fish today breaking the metre mark with a 102cm specimen, well done! Mike had been waiting in anticipation for a big fish to cross his path, while wading a flat in the southern part of the atoll he noticed a decent fish slowly cruising by, with a well presented cast he got the fish’s attention. The fish slowly changed direction and moved toward the fly only to charge at the last second and eventually eat the fly at the rod tip. The fish then proceeded to make a long run towards the ocean side, after a good tussle he managed to tail the fish on the coral head he hooked it from, well done on a great fish measuring 107cm, his second GT for the day. David enjoyed a solid day by landing both a GT and a Yellow Margin Triggerfish. Rob, Terry, Andre and Brian also got stuck into solid GTs for the day. The Triggers were also around in good numbers hugging the edges of the lagoon, tailing happily. Alejandro and Chris did a great job with both landing a Yellow Margin and Moustache Triggerfish.

ATSWE9111Day 4 – We had reached the middle of our full moon spring tides, with us still experiencing bad weather. Determined as always we were still able to get some great fish to hand. Some of those catches included Mike’s 2 GTs, the biggest being 98cm. David also did a great job by getting 2 to hand while Pete, Brian and Rob also tailed GTs for the day. After losing a couple earlier in the week, Chris was rewarded with a great birthday present, his first GT on fly! Pete made the most of day 4 and landed 2 Yellow Margin Triggerfish while David added another Yellow Margin Triggerfish to his name for the week. To top it all off, Brian did a great job by hooking and landing a Milkfish in some seriously bad sea conditions.

IMG_9415Day 5 – The weather continued to deteriorate with strong winds and buckets of rain, this all made things difficult from a sight fishing perspective. We did not let this dampen our spirits and still had a great day with Andre, Warwick and Jarod capitalizing on a school of fish dropping off the flats by tripling up with each of them managing to land their fish. Warwick got the biggest out of the bunch with a fin perfect GT measuring 107cm, Andre was not too far behind with a fish of 101cm while Jarod also came close to the metre mark with an awesome fish of 96cm, what an amazing experience, great job guys! Warwick then added another GT to his tally hitting the mark at 90cm while Peter also tailed a GT for the day. The action didn’t end with the GT fishing with our guests adding several Emperors, Snappers and Grouper to the species list. Patrick and Jarod also caught their first Milkfish today after some epic battles in big seas they eventually got their fish to the net,  great job guys.

IFJIE1766Day 6 – We woke up to the worst weather we have experienced this week with huge swells, heavy rain and strong winds which delayed our fishing until around midday. We eventually got a little break in the weather and quickly shot out to the flats to catch the pushing tide. Alejandro and Brian got to experience some classic GT fishing with fish tailing hard on the back of stingrays and pushing bow wakes in super skinny water. Alejandro landed 4 GTs while Brian, Pete, David and Mike each managed to get a GT to hand before the weather closed in on us.

All in all, considering that we experienced tough conditions at times during this week our guests still managed to enjoy great fishing with several memorable fish coming to hand. Great job to all of our guests, we had a great time fishing with you all!

Our fish tally for the week was as follows:

  • GTs – 55
  • GTs over a metre – 6
  • Triggerfish -13
  • Bonefish – 3
  • Milkfish – 3
  • Species – 431

Farquhar Blog: 12 – 19 April 2019

This week turned out to be a great one from a weather perspective with sunny, warm conditions being the norm. Tide wise, we began the week with neap tides that later built to springs giving our a guests a great mix of fishing scenarios.

20190416_164631(0)Our guests were treated to a number of shots at GTs this week with just about everyone landing one. Of the 24 fish hooked we only managed to get 10 to hand with the fish of the week caught by angler Aubrey. This absolute behemoth was landed during an offshore session and pulled the measuring tape all the way to 128cm! A true giant and the largest of the season so far.

20190417_111717The Bumpies this week proved to be difficult to come by, that said, we were still able to land a decent fish of 90cm, hooked and landed by angler Giles. While wet wading the flats we encountered tailing Triggerfish on a number of occasions and by the end of the week our tally totaled 4 hooked and 2 landed, A mustache Triggerfish each for angler Aubrey and Chris. Farquhar again provided our guests with some decent Bonefishing which resulted in several quality fish landed throughout the duration of the week.

Farquhar Atoll - Seychelles www.flycastaway.com info@flycastaway.comThe bluewater fishing this week was excellent with angler Louis and Sophie landing a Sailfish each. This was followed by a couple of impressive Yellowfin tuna and Wahoo which added to the action in the deep blue for our guests. The reef species were active and ready to pick off anything that ventured near the numerous coral heads in the atoll’s many lagoons. Loads of large Grouper were caught, however none were bigger than Stephen’s 85cm African Marbled Coral Grouper. 2 large Napoleon Wrasse were landed by Chris and Aubrey, the largest being 80cm while several lively Bluefin Trevally were also landed during the course of the week.

With that we concluded another action packed week on the flats of Farquhar. We look forward to what next week has in store for us.

IMG_8781Day 1 – Our fourth week of the season on Providence Atoll started with full moon neap tides, a slow dropping tide in the morning and a late afternoon push. Mike wasted little time and opened his account in style by landing a monster 102cm GT on his very first cast of the trip! Chase made the most of the numerous GTs seen today and landed 3, while Tim also enjoyed his day and managed to get 2 to hand. We encountered a good number of tailing Triggerfish on the flats today, however Terry was the only successful angler on this front, landing a lively Yellow Margin Triggerfish. The Bumphead Parrotfish were also seen tailing on a number of occasions and eventually after a couple fish that were hooked and lost, two of our guests landed Bumpies for the day, 1 a piece for Bowen and Chase. An eventful start to the week on the flats of Providence that left us excited to see what the rest of the week had in store.

IMG_3532~photoDay 2 – We came across loads of Bumpies today feeding hard and willing to eat a well-presented crab imitation. Well done to Mike – after losing 12 of these fish he finally managed to get the upper hand by not only landing 1 but 2 great fish! Zack also experienced good fortune on the Bumpie front and managed to land his first Bumpie too, well done guys! These slow-moving tides have made it ideal for tailing fish and thus we encountered incredible numbers of Triggerfish, Tim took full advantage of this and landed a colorful Yellow Margin Triggerfish. Despite the slower than usual GT fishing a couple of great catches were still enjoy by our guests; Tim managed to match yesterdays exploits and landed another 2 GTs. Tony had an incredible day by completing a Slam, he landed – a 98cm GT, a Yellow Margin Triggerfish and topped it off with a Bonefish, well done Tony!

IMG_8865Day 3 – The GT fishing really picked up a couple gears today with us coming across a mixture of free-swimming fish, including GTs on sharks and stingrays. Mike Dawes landed 3, Tim landed 5, while Zack landed 4 including his PB; a great fish of 104cm that was caught while it pushed a wake on a turtle grass flat, completely engulfing the fly as soon as it hit the water and then it proceeded to give us a good tussle before coming to hand, congrats! The Bumpies were still around in good numbers with Mike managing to land 1 and Paul landing 2, well done guys. Tony converted his chances with the Triggers yet again and managed to land an awesome Moustache Triggerfish. All in all, it was another great day out on the flats with some fantastic fish coming to hand.

Bowen, Chase and Bob also had a great day and landed 10 GTs between them; Bowen getting his PB with a trophy of 100cm, well done Bowen! Meanwhile Terry added to his tally and landed a solid GT measuring 93cm. The Bumpies and Triggers were seen again in great numbers but unfortunately, they got the better of us, we looked forward to trying our hand with them again tomorrow.

IMG_8835Day 5 – The GTs were around and patrolling the flats and lagoon systems off the north eastern side of the atoll. Some of our guests experienced 60+ fish cruising on the backs of lemon sharks, ready to attack anything that crossed their path. Tim had a great day by landing 4, with his biggest being a fin perfect specimen measuring 100cm. Tony also managed to land a trophy GT today measuring in at 100cm. dav

We began this week on Farquhar with windy conditions, a strong south easterly blowing from 15 to 20 knots and showers on and off for the first 2 days. The rain and wind slowly gave way and by the end of the week the wind had died down to a comfortable 2 to 4 knots with great sunlight and warm conditions. The tides this week started with new moon spring tides with midday lows, moving on to neaps later in the week.

DSCN0505-2

The GT fishing this week saw 14 fish landed by our guests with 5 fish over a metre! Angler Angelika, a familiar face to Farquhar landed her first GT over a metre, well done Angelika. Angler Bill closed out the week with a brute GT measuring 105cm on his first cast of the last day of fishing. Angler James from the UK landed 2 fish over a metre this week with his largest measuring a massive 114cm. Our largest fish of the week was landed by Angler Joern from Germany. This beast of a fish measured a massive 124cm! After a long fight this monster fish was landed. After a quick photo session it was released strong and healthy. Father and son team of Hunter and Lewis landed their first GTs on fly while Anglers Keith and Maria landed 2 GTs each.

IMG_4639

We hooked 7 Triggers this week, unfortunately we weren’t able to get any to hand. The Bumpies were seen in good numbers again this week however of the 6 hooked, only of 1 of 94 cm was landed by angler Colin.

Those willing to spend time peppering the coral heads with flies enjoyed great returns with loads of Bohar Snapper and Grouper hooked and landed. Gerhard from Germany landed two special fish this week, a large Barracuda and a Bluefin Trevally of 75cm.

Despite the tricky light we experienced at the start of the week our guests still enjoyed some fantastic fishing, with special catches enjoyed throughout the duration of our guests stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you back to Farquhar in the future.

Providence Blog: 2 – 9 April 2019

Welcome to our third week of the season on Providence Atoll.

IMG_4288

Day 1 – We started this week with a transitional tide, between neaps and springs with an early morning low and a good mid-morning push. Randy opened his account with an absolute beast of a fish measuring 122cm. This fish was found sitting in a white hole on the edge of a flat, once the fish spotted his well presented baitfish imitation it exploded on the fly and tore off with tremendous speed and determination, pealing off loads of backing. Eventually after a long fight the fish lost its steam and was brought to hand, a special catch and incredible way to start the week! Randy continued to enjoy day 1 and added another 3 GTs to his tally before the days end. John managed to land his first ever GT on fly and later added another making day one memorable for him, well done John! Dave and Paul made the most of their first day on the flats by landing a couple GTs each. A great first day which really got us all excited to see what the rest of the week had in store.

P1020479

Day 2 – We encountered good numbers of GTs on the flats today. James made his opportunities count and managed to hook and land his first ever GT on fly, well done James! Gregory enjoyed a cracking day and landed 4, whilst John managed to add to yesterday’s exploits and land another lively GT. Other than the consistently good numbers of GTs we’ve seen on the flats for the first 2 days we also have come across loads of Bumphead Parrotfish, however fishing to them has been tough due to the strong current pushing over the flats which is not ideal when targeting this species.

IMG_4436

Day 3 – We experienced some warm water along the western side of the atoll which led to some considerably tough fishing conditions for our iconic species, nevertheless we still managed some good fish. The great species fishing made up for the tough conditions with great numbers of big groupers and snappers landed. We also managed to raise a couple Sailfish but unfortunately, we weren’t able to land any. The diversity of this atoll again highlights how incredible this fishery is, even relatively tough days on the flats can be turned into good a days by fishing for the lesser-known species that call Providence Atoll home.

Day 4 – We experienced great fishing on the eastern side of the atoll with Shamal, Randy and John managing to land 13 GTs between them. Steve also got into the action, by fooling a GT that was riding on the back of a lemon shark. It was however one particular session of fishing that stole the spotlight on day 4. While crossing back towards the mothership through the labyrinth of finger flats and lagoons a couple of GTs were spotted, Greg took the shot and hooked a monster GT! After a long tussle and couple nervy moments we managed to land a fin perfect GT measuring 121cm, certainly an unforgettable fish to end day 4!

Day 5 – Grey skies made for tough conditions from a sight fishing perspective, despite this we still managed to land a number of great fish. Paul landed a solid GT of 91cm whilst Greg broke the metre mark 2 days in a row with a GT of 101cm. Chris also managed to land his first GT over a metre measuring 102cm. The Triggerfishing experienced today was world class with Dave and Greg landing their first ever Triggers, both Moustache Triggerfish, well done guys. All in all, a great day considering the tough conditions we experienced.

Day 6 – We woke up to clear skies with everyone excited to make the most of the final day of the week. The GTs were seen in good numbers with a fair number of decent fish coming to hand. Brian managed to land 3, whilst another 16 were landed between John, Randy, Shamal, Chris, James and Paul – a great day out for everyone! The Triggerfish were seen in good numbers with a few hooked, however Chris was the only angler to convert his chances and landed an awesome Moustache Triggerfish, well done Chris. We were treated to some exceptional action on the species front today with over 50 Bluefin Trevally landed!

All in all, another great week for everyone on the flats considering the warm water we experienced. Our guests still managed to enjoy some spectacular fishing with a variety of species landed. Week 3 provided us with great humor and awesome fishing, we look forward to seeing you all out here again in the not so distant future.

Our fish tally for the week was as follows:

  • GTs – 74
  • Triggerfish – 3
  • Species – 264
